An EF806 pentode preamp input tube is the first thing you find in this guitar amps bag of tricks. 
The simple looking control panel has three controls but each one has a secret pull switch so you can precisely tailor your sound.  We start with a single input jack and a toggle switch to choose between pentode or triode mode for two very distinct sounds.  The Pad control, an exclusive feature on MegaTone Amps, allows you to vary the intensity of the power tubes.  Pulling the Pad knob fattens up the low end, while the Tone control has a pull gain Boost switch.  The Volume control pull switch provides a cleaner tone in the down position, up has a much earlier breakup.  A three way power switch; down for standby, center off, up is ready to operate

The power amp in the ME-18G starts with two push-pull 6L6GC power tubes fed by a 5U4 rectifier circuit.  Features include a huge, fat stack Mercury power transformer, and custom Mercury multi-tap output transformer to accommodate 4/8/16 speaker loads.  The strong finger joined Baltic Birch cabinet is loaded with either two tens, or a ten/twelve inch speaker compliment.  Other features include line-out jack, external speaker jack, ground lift switch, and a dual speaker impedance switch.
