A FEW COMMENTS FROM OUR CUSTOMERS
David Barrett: WEZO-45 2x10 Combo with 2x12 extension cabinet
Being primarily a classic Chicago blues style harmonica player, I'm of course a
big fan of vintage tube amps. As you have certainly discovered though your own
trial and error, the small amps of the 1950's, though they sound great, are not
loud enough to play in today's band and stage configurations. Like most players,
I have owned many large amps through the years, all sounding good in their own
right--but never quite the sound I was looking for. There is also the need for
different size amps to fit different venues: big amps sound best when loud
(large venues) and don't sound very good in the studio; and small amps can only
be played at lower volumes (coffee houses), but are great in the studio.
The WEZO-45 by MegaTone Amplifiers is plainly stated a one-of-a-kind amp
that excels in all of those applications. The amp has better tone and bass
response than any of my vintage amps... and I have some great amps! The amp
kicks out plenty of volume for the bandstand, but sounds surprisingly killer at
low volumes as well.
Putting the amp to the test in the recording studio
I also found it to be the best sounding amp I've ever used. To top all of this
off, every student that I've had play through the amp sounded great... they were
stunned that they could sound so good.
I really can't say enough good
things about the amp. Take a moment and listen to the song samples and YouTube
video I've recorded with the WEZO-45 and listen for yourself how nice the amp
sounds.

Last night we
played a large regional blues festival (James Day & The Fish Fry) with the new MegaTone amp, I was astounded by
the low volume break up and great clarity on this amp. The sound was
punchy and not muddy! It fits all styles of roots music that I play, it has the
honking horn clarity and the low level break up for that Classic Chicago Tone.
As a singer and front man, my job is to focus on the crowd and convey my stories
to the audience. I don’t have the time or patience to fiddle and ‘baby’ a
vintage amplifier. That is what I have done in the past…running back &
turning knobs while something crackled or started smoking. I have also tried
many name brand boutique amps in my quest for tone and though I was in love with
them for a spell, none can match my new MegaTone. Hawww My! Ima tell you
something sons that I love this little amp.
Marco/Switzerland: WEZO 2x10 ME18 Combo
Great response, great sound at any volume. I'm used
to this because I have many great amps, but this one is really a class on its
own. There are some details in this amp you don't find in other amps like the voice
switch on the back (Normal/Bright Fat/Fat) it’s like having three different heads:
incredible. The biggest difference
between the WEZO and all the other amps I have is that the WEZO really sounds
thick at very low volumes, and the sound remains well defined and not muddy at
all at high volumes. With my 9 custom
boutique amps I found out that there are two amps that are a class of it's own:
The 6watt Marble max and your WEZO-45.
Even my wife said “wow this is a very cool looking amp" ...sic! she
never told me this about any of my other amps :-)

I played a gig last Saturday night at the original Johnny's
Bar and Grill where part of the movie the Wild One with Marlon
Brando was filmed. Johnny's is a medium sized bar. The amp sounded great, in
fact it sounded so good I got carried away and found myself out on
the dance floor blowin up a storm surrounded by a pack of very
attractive 20 something year old young ladies who were so mesmerized by
the sound of the 45 they worked themselves into a frenzy and would not let
me stop. I felt like an Indian snake charmer or a voodoo chieftian. On Sunday afternoon I played an outdoor festival
gig and I was able to crank the 45 up to about 11 O'clock and again it
responded with more great tone and again I got compliments from people in the
audience saying how good the amp sounded, looked, and what is it, and where did
you get it. This amp is definitely the shit. It sounds
killer it looks killer and chicks dig it. What more can a harp
player ask for!!
